The cover story was on Mary Murphy, investigative reporter for WPIX Channel 11 news and winner of over 15 Emmy awards. I met her, and I’m not just blowing smoke when I say that she’s the most down-to-earth local celebrity you could ever hope to meet. Born and raised in Queens, she still lives here with her husband and son. Her career is the envy of any journalist, but it’s obvious she’s still a Queens girl at heart.
