Wrong on e-bikes

Dear Editor,

While e-bikes have not been proven to be a menace on the road, they are a menace on the sidewalk.

Your editorial last week emphasizes road safety as well as delivery workers' safety, but fails to address pedestrian safety.

Dodging e-bike riders on the sidewalk is a daily annoyance. The law prohibiting sidewalk riding by bikers and e-bikers is not enforced, endangering pedestrians.

To declare a moratorium on enforcement of e-bike misuse indicates that you do not consider pedestrian safety significant. Explain, please, why the well-being of pedestrians is less important than the safety of lawbreakers?

Sincerely,

Martha Wilson
