Riding a four-game point streak and scoring six goals in her last two games, St. Joseph’s College sophomore Deserae Sequeira was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week.

The honor is the second in a row for Sequeira and comes after she led the Bears to a 10-1 rout of York College on September 12. She poured in five goals on 10 shots and dished out an assist with four of her five tallies coming in the first half.

In the Bears’ previous contest, a win over Pratt, the forward served up an assist to keep her point streak alive. Most recently, Sequeira put up a goal and an assist in the Bears’ 7-3 loss to Staten Island.

Sequeira currently leads the Skyline with nine goals to pace a Bears’ offense that sits atop the league in goals scored (30). Her 23 points also tops the league rankings, and she sits second in assists with five.

Additionally, freshman Julia Lavelle, a Bayside native and grad of The Mary Louis Academy, landed on the Skyline Weekly Honor Roll for the first time in her career after three-straight multi-goal performances and six goals in three games.
